Condensation In Utility Room

I'm having problems with condensation in a utility room that's on the side of my kitchen. It's made mainly from wood and glass with a felt roof. There is no ventilation in there and when the heating is on or I've been cooking or just overnight when it's cold there's a lot of condensation on the windows.

I was looking at either getting a dehumidifer or a humidstat/humistat fan for the room but wasn't sure which would be the best option. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

There is a vent leading outside that used to be for a tumble dryer hose - is it possible to get something to fit this?

  • To be honest with the type of construction you describe it'll be hard to eliminate condensation.

Of the two options you mention i'd go for a dehumidifier over heating the room since its sounds like you've got little to no insulation in the construction.
