copying my wedding dvd help

Options
I got married abroad last year and I got a lovely dvd of our day. We are in the process of moving houses and I was upset yesterday when I could not find my dvd anywhere! (my only copy!) Anyway, after turning my flat upside down and a lot of crying ,I have finally found it!!!:j

I now want to copy this dvd onto my computer just in case this ever happens again. Can anyone help? I dont know where to start. Thanks

ImgBurn Be careful to untick the option to install the ToolBar(you don't want the ToolBar).

Do any of your friends or family have a DVD recorder, combination DVD/HDD recorder, and do you have a DVD player?

If so, you can simply connect the player to the recorder and run off a copy onto another DVD or two.

Or DVD Shrink http://www.dvdshrink.org/, then you can also copy it to another DVD providing you have a DVD writer on your computer (most do).

It copies it onto your computer, then copies it to the DVD. Bear in mind a full DVD holds 4.2gb so make sure you have enough space when putting it onto your harddrive.

Totally unnecessary when ImgBurn will do the same thing and waaay too many chances of downloading annoyware.

    Congratulations on getting married.

You should make multiple back up copies of such an important and irreplaceable DVD.

    Blank DVDs are very cheap.

Run off a few copies and give some to close family and/or friends.

That means that, should the worst happen and you get burgled or suffer a house fire, or you lose your own copy, then at least there will be copies of the video available elsewhere.

if you copy it to an iso using imgburn, you can play it directly using vlc without inserting a dvd, and make as many dvd copies as you like.

a pc image backup may also be useful http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
