Desktop stuck on boot up

Our HP desktop got stuck yesterday on the 'welcome to windows screen'.
The machine is about 9 months old, runs windows 7 and is fully update with updates etc.
I turned machine off at plug and rebooted. It then offered 2 choices - a normal boot up or as it did not shut down properly it offered for Windows to try and detect what had gone wrong.
I chose the second option which resulted in the advice that it would restore back to an earlier restore point. This seems to have solved the problem so far with everything seemingly working fine.
Should I be worried that I have an underlying issue or just put it down to a temporary glitch.

do an image backup when it's working, and you won't have to worry
