Obtaining older credit history

Good Morning!
I have been trying to work out how to obtain credit history older than 6 years. I stupidly had many credit and store cards in my teens and early twenties that were paid off with consolidating loans and then more loans
. These are the ones that I know I had PPI on and would like to claim against, but I no longer have the paperwork, and cannot work out how to get a credit history going back that far!
If anyone can advise me, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Emma

Credit histories only go back 6 years. You will either need to dig out your documents or contact each firm/bank for details, you may well find they dont hold details anymore.0

I am currently at this stage too. I know I had loans with PPI, but they go back to 1998 onwards. Also a case of early twenties living beyond my means.
I have drafted out the SAR request, as all loans are from the same bank, it will only cost me one £10 fee. Is it likely the Yorkshire Bank will have the details off fee's borrowed and dates etc going back that far?
Alternatively, could I just ring my bank and ask for the account numbers of the loans? Will they have them, and will they give them out over the phone? I am still with the same bank.
I have statements from around 2000 onwards, but they just state 'loan payment' next to the monthly fee paid, no mention of an account number.
Unfortunately, during two house moves, getting married, and having kids, any other paperwork has long since been lost.
What specific details do I need in order to be able to try and claim?
Loan amount?
Date of loan?
Loan account number?
I already know there was PPI. I now know I didn't need it either.
If I do get these details, what do I then send back off?
I assume I will not be able to make any kind of claim if I do not have an account number, and I do not know when the loan was, how much it was for.0 -

You need nothing other than the account numbers in terms of loan detail. What you need for a successful complaint, though, is valid and verifiable mis-selling reasons. It's not enough that you simply had PPI policies.
So, if I just need the account numbers, can I just call up the bank for these? No need for a SAR?
I believe I was mis-sold, or more accurately pressured into buying the PPI, when I didn't need it, as I was entitled to full sick pay from work, and I also already had private insurance that paid out cash sums in lieu of accidents/illness etc that would have forced me to miss work.
I am still with Yorkshire.
Oh, and you're help is very much appreciated. Thanks.0 -

Ok, thanks for that.
So, next step, ring the bank to try and get the account numbers.
After that, fill out the relevant questionnaire's, and send them off... then wait for an answer.
I take it being pressured into taking PPI when it was not needed is valid grounds?0
