My kid got a Leap Pad a christmas last year. He is 4 and has probably used it no more than 10 times. The APP's were not very good at the time and expensive it also only took batteries.

He and his 5 year old brother only use the IPAD they have. The only good thing about the Leap Pad is its pretty robust and much more likely to survive drops than a tablet. We have a thick padded case for our IPAD though and therefore its taken a fe drops without any problems.

I think a 6 year old would be better off with a tablet especially one with a strong padded case.

Best tablet, value for money wise now, imo is the acer iconia A110. Even better than the nexus

£50 cashback making it an amazing £129 - almost wished I held off a little longer from buying the blackberry, thats how good of a deal it is.

Thanks for your help folks, after talking to my daughter she really wants a Leappad and she marked it all up in the Argos book and went straight to it in Toys R Us the other day and put it on her xmas list to Santa , as its Clubcard Exchange time i bought one so was half price really , even though i don't really agree with her and the wife , will give the other tablet i bought to my 9yr old.
