Hi everyone!
Was wondering if you've got suggestions re insurance with dental covers?
I'd love to learn about the health plans you've got.
Thanks in advance

There are quite few providers offering dental cover. However one of the conditions is that your teeth are in A1 condition to start with, with any work that needs doing having been done.
So it really depends on what cover you are looking for and what sort of thing you need to cover. Do you have bridges, crowns, implants etc as this will be more specialist.0 -
I agree with bouncydog01. Definitely depends on the type of cover you need. Maybe you can share a bit more information about say, the dental services you need? And also, you forgot to mention where you're from.
Take me for example, my family and I are covered by NIB. I'm pretty sure you can get extra dental covers from them. However, I'm not so sure if this will be helpful for you since we don't know if you're from Au.
Do update us and I'm sure the rest of the community can share some insurance info, too!0 -
Not to to hijack this thread but I've been told this afternoon that I will need and implant or bridge in the new year. My dentist re-cemented my crown and charged me £30 for that. She says I need to come back in the new year for an implant (estimate £2k) or bridge (estimate £450). I want to know
1 is it worthwhile changing to an nhs dentist? I was forced to go private or move dentist 2 years ago before my old dentist retired and I chose to stay with him but now I don't mind moving.
2 can I get insurance when I know I need work and will it cover an implant? What insurance do others recommend? I'm in Scotland.0 -
You will have to get the work done first for insurance cover to operate. Insurance is not maintenance it is to cover the unexpected and your dentist has already told you that the work needs doing.
Not sure about NHS and what that covers - sure others will though.0
