Cheap way of paying in Euros

I am booking a villa in Spain and the owner has asked me to pay the deposit straight into their bank account in Euros. I've looked at my bank (Nationwide) and they will charge me £25 for the privilege!

Any advice on how to do this without being charged so much?

Thanks

Halifax charges £9.50(£7.50 with a discount code). But I guess you need to have an account with them.

You can look at someone such as XE Trade. Don't know how competitive they might be, but they are reliable.

Transferwise has some of the best rates around for GBP->EUR, especially for smaller transfers.
Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

    ...

Yes, but I've heard that Halifax give you a really rubbish FX rate on the transfer.

    Currency Fair for you.

I know there are other firms but this lot works best for me .

Without doubt the cheapest way is transferwise as previously mentioned.
You will get the middle rate and if you use the link below they will charge you nothing. I am not sure if I get a free transfer or not if you use the link.

  • Thanks for all of your help - much appreciated! I used TransferWise this morning to organise my transfer from your advice, and it was brilliant! Hardly cost me a thing for the transfer and money should be with them tomorrow! Fantastic!

Sorry brodev - had already done it before your post.
