Trying to work out how much heating costs per hour!

This is driving me crazy, for some reason i just can't figure it out!

For gas central heating.

We're pretty poor at the moment so we're trying to find out how much heating we can use for so much money.

Raidiators are 1.5kw we use 2.

Boiler is 24/28 KWH (i go by 28 to be safe) But boiling is not on full, there's 5 dials the boiler is on Number 4. (But even to work out it on full is better than nothing)

Gas price is 3.663 KWH

2 hours of heating a day, so 60 hours a month.

Can anyone work it out for me? I tried and it came to something stupid like £123 which cannot be correct!

Not that simple, as you've found out.
    28*60*3.6 Is 60 quid a month.
Even a small amount of supplemental heating with electric could easily reach 120/mo.
The electric radiators at 3kw will use abut 40p/hour (on full)

The dial on the boiler does not set maximum output, except indirectly.
    The dial sets output temperature.
Only if your radiators cannot absorb the power without heating beyond this will the boiler reduce in power,

You would learn more by reading your meter daily for a while and calculating the cost of the gas used daily in different weather conditions. Then you will know for the future.

There are two specific ways to reduce heating consumption, either by lower temperature or by reducing the time heating is on. What temperature and/or time controls are fitted?

I had a feeling maybe that;s why i wasn't coming out with an answer!

It would be hard to do that as we have a gas cooker and we only want to find out about the heating, if not possible that's fine will have to carry on as we are.

The heatings not on any temp/no set times etc as we can only afford around £25-30 for gas and that includes the cooker so we only put the 1/2 radiators on for 2 hours in the evening.

Was trying to work it out if we're using more than this we can cut, and if we're not i can work out exactly how much more we can use it.
