Hi there. HELP! Can anyone help with Virgin Media call barring? We are with Virgin media and have everything with them.
Our teenage son is running up huge bills calling mobiles when we are out! Can we bar calls to mobiles or is it only premium rate numbers. Also can you exclude any mobile numbers from barring such as our in an emergency? Not much info on their site so thought I'd ask before I listen to more mindless music while I am waiting! Son has a mobile and seems to spend most of his life with it glued to his ear. When we take it off him cos he is out of minutes he uses the landline! All we get out of him is "eh" or "alright?" just like the AA advert! Kids!
Thanks. I'm off for a lie down after seeing the last bill!

Install a Phone Guard on each socket.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Im with them and have a mobile barring on my phone for £1.75 per month. They give you a code to use to get round it but to be honest l have never had to use it.
They said you could take it off after a few months as the kids will still think mobiles are blocked
Should have added its only a quick call to CS0 -

Depending on the area you live (the switch you are on) the codes work differently.
Some areas you need to take the baring off via a code, then dial the number, then but the baring back on.
Other areas you dial the code and then the number and the baring is off for just that call only. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
Thanks to everyone for your helpful suggestions. We will contact Virgin Media about barring mobile calls. We are also looking at the orchid dialler to see if that would help. :A0
