Hey all, was wondering if someone could please help me with an issue I'm having with a HDD.
I have an external hard drive, it's a 2.5" SATA 40GB and I've bought a few enclosures for it since I kept thinking they were all broken. When being connected to a Laptop or PC, the HDD is picked up by windows and shows up on the list of connected devices, but NOT in My Computer (so I can't access it at all) or in Disk Management in Windows.
Is there any way for me to be able to even access the drive? Even the BIOS and bootmenu picks it up, it just doesn't come up in the removeable/mass storage part of My Computer
Thanks in advance!

in windows press Start > look for the white 'search programs and file' box and type diskmgmt.msc
There may be a scrollbar on the right hand side. Anyway your disk should show up in there. If it is there but has no drive letter, right click on the disk and select 'change drive letters and path'.
If is not there, then try a shorter and fatter usb cable, and if still not working then test it in another pc0 -
No worries guys, after trying the above methods and failing, I tried to see if my Xbox 360 would recognise it long enough to format it, and lo and behold it worked! Perfectly functioning drive now that the Xbox did it's work0
