Identifying OS from an unlabelled product key

Hey,
Quick one - I have aquired a laptop that has a valid COA on the bottom.
However, the writing for which OS it is for, has rubbed off. The actual 25 character key is still fine though.
Is there an easy way to ID what OS this product key is for? Without installing xp/vista/7/home/business/pro/ultimate and testing each one till it activates?
The age of the laptop would suggest it will be vista, probably business, but thought there might be a way to save me an hour or two!
Ta!

It may not be but it shows that all you need to do is contact Microsoft and they will help you out.I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0 -
