This site recommended this fixed price deal, which it transpires is nothing of the kind. I signed up for the account in early September 2012 only to be dumbfounded yesterday when I received a letter from npower stating that my electricity bill would be increased by 8.3% from 26 November 2012. After spending one and three quarter hours on 27 October 2012 on the phone to them I was told that it was fixed at 5% below their standard rate and was being increased in line with their recently increased charges for that rate. Be vary wary of signing up for any fixed rate del before reading the small print and also make sure that no early exit penalties exist if you terminate before the contract end.

If that's the case you weren't on a fixed price tariff. What was it called?0

it sounds like an energy trackerDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

What Tariff was it? Energyonline and bill Saver tariffs are 5% below.
I was on energyonline 2013 and have now went over to OVO before they put prices up on 24th Oct
You can compare and swop without any exit fees as Npower have increased your prices. The world is not ruined by the wickedness of the wicked, but by the weakness of the good. Napoleon0 -
Which, along with the Scottish Power fixed price contract that runs until April 2014 was shown as a fixed price contract, on this site, until November 2013. I have now cancelled the contract and firmly believe that it was mis sold to me.0

D'oh! :doh:Customers on this tariff are guaranteed a 5% lower bill than npower’s Standard (off-line) variable prices from 30th July 2012 until 30th November 2013. The guarantee applies to customers with average gas consumption of 16,500 kWh and average electricity consumption of 3,300 kWh, and includes the monthly dual fuel direct debit discount.
There is a cancellation fee of £30 per fuel if a customer leaves the tariff before 30th November 2013.0 -

ok, so it was not a fixed tariff then?:o
details below Sorry!!
What is Bill Saver November 2013?
Bill Saver November 2013 is a new tariff which gives customers with average consumption, annual charges which are at a 5% discount to standard variable off-line charges from time to time until 30/11/13.
Plus, pay by Direct Debit for both your gas and electricity and you’ll also receive a discount of £100 when you’ve paid this way continuously for 12 months.
Bill Saver November 2013 is not available to Prepayment customers or customers with non-standard metering. Prices aren’t fixed or capped so may vary during the offer period. Bill Saver has a standing charge so annual charges for customers with very low consumption may be higher than the charges on our standard tariff which does not contain a standard charge.
