Faulty fujitzu siemens laptop

Options
Please help me with some advise.
Bought a laptop for DD to do her A levels last April. In mid June it went for repair and had a new hard drive, LCD screen , LCD cable, Motherboard and DVD rewriter. It worked ok until mid March except using the side USB ports caused it to shut down. In Mid march it refused to recognise any wireless networks and after a week of twice daily 0870 phones calls (not listed on saynoto) and a complete reinstalation of windows it is back for repair. This time it needs a new motherboard and a new screen. Thet have had the laptop since the 27th March. They have the motherboard but have no date when the screen will be available.
When we get it back the new parts are under warrenty for 90 days, the rest is out of any guantee and then Fujitzu have no further part to play.
How likely is it to happen again ? and am I alone in thinking that a £650 laptop should run for more than a year ie more than 2 quid a day.
Anybody any sugestions of what we should do now. How long can FS reasonably have to do the repair? My DD is in yr 13 and needs it back yesterday,

Sounds like a lemon. I've never heard of such a useless machine before now.

Write to the MD and ask for a completely new machine, as the one you have is clearly a lemon.

I have a Japanese Fujitsu machine that's a few years old and nothing(touch wood) has gone wrong with it.

When you buy something, it has to be fit for the purpose. Your machine clearly is not, so you have the law on your side.
  • Does anyone know the contact details for Fujitsu siemens MD ?

On the positive side, every major component looks to have been replaced so you virtually have a new laptop already. Unless there's some inherent design fault, you might be ok.

The first replacement was last June and the second now, who is to say that it won`t need another in another 6 mths? Also they still have it with no idea when it will be back.
