Hello all,

I have just been quoted £3200 for the full replacement (not over-cladding) of FSG (45m and 3 down pipes) for my 3 bed semi detached by one of the leading home improvements companies.

- Any thoughts on this? Is that a reasonable price?

- Can someone recommend a reliable local company in Coventry?

- Also need to know how the deep flow (round) gutters compare to half-round ones? Which one should I go for?
Many thanks in advance.

I have a 3 bed semi and last year was quoted £1800 for mine, including scaffolding for high and doing the same for a small front porch. It wasn't into a gable end, which would have cost more (some neighbours have this) instead all at the same height. My house is approximately 15' x 30' x 15' and 3 gutters also. I'm in Hertfordshire. This is a smaller, local company, but they have done most of the houses round here and are who people would call on.

Try getting a quote from a smaller independant window company...they usually do offer better value than the nationals...

Just had all our gutterings downpipes and facias replaced both front and back and even allowing for the extra you have by way of the semi aspect you should be able to get a more reasonable quote elsewhere
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Thanks, that sounds very reasonable for 20 mtrs length.
I have a long flat roof hat runs almost 15 mtrs to the back, he measured 45 mts on ours.

The front of our house is 17 meters and there is a bay window which also has guttering around extending to a porch area and downpipe

On the back we have gutters and facias extending the length...the back of the house has a flat roof utility extention and a poly concervatory extention so the downpipe runs to the flat roof and along it joining the guttering of the utility...and both the utility and conservatory have had new facias and gutterings too....

Whilst we dont have 3 downpipes as in your case....I would guess with the lower extentions on the house it would be a similar amount of guttering and facias.

It was 2 days work and we needed a scaffold for the front which was included in the price

    we paid £2200
