You only really need high capacity if you plan to load your own videos or masses of music. Games take very little and can be deleted and restored later without any further charge if it happened to be a bought one. I think the google videos are just streamed - certainly the freebie transfomers one mine came with seemed to be.

If it suits you to buy now then do so. I doubt he'll need 32GB.

It's a pure gamble really.. £169 is a good price, but will it drop further when the new model gets released?

The 16GB model should be fine for your needs though

The rumor mill is that the 32gb one will enter at £199 which was the price for the 16gb one whoch shed the price.

Cant say ive filled mine up but then again I don't use it too much.
and I stream all video over the network.

I use a 16gb one, but adding SD card support is easy. (Wire to turn the micro USB socket into a full-sized socket, card reader, and an app called 'nexus media importer'). I used it to watch some movies when on holiday in the states.

I've got the 8Gb model and it's fine for me!
I stream videos to the device when i'm in the house and I've rooted and have a 16Gb USB stick that I use to store movies/shows/music when i'm on the move.

I've actually got a 500Gb external drive that I also use when I'm in the house, the Nexux USB port is not powerful enough to power an external disk drive (not tried an SSD!) by it's self so you need to plug the drive into the mains :(

Google are doing an event tomorrow (29th), which is rumoured to announce the 32gb nexus 7. Others rumours are it stop the 8 gb and sell the 16gb at same price as 8gb (£159)and 32gb a price of 16gb (£199)

So may as well wait a cpl of days to see.

Oh right, they will still announce at a later date.

Could try looking at the acer iconia A110 for £150 (cashback offer), same processor, but has micro sd and hdmi. Only thing that let's it down is the screen
