MS Security Essentials

Am currently using MS Security on my lap top but still seem to have picked up a few Trojans and viruses,i ran a full scan and that seemed to detect and clean them up but i see today a trojan still remaining so will do another full scan.
Would I be better installing the free version of AVG for my security and if so would i need to disable MS Security or can they both run with each other?

You'd have to uninstall MSE first.

But, all antivirus software will miss malware occasionally. I'd put the effort into looking at how you are getting infected and try to change that.
