Splash screen for (Ikea) sink

Can't quite believe what I'm reading here. What is this, the playground? Because last time I checked this was a board for adults so i'm amazed at the degree of 'ganging up' going on here on one user who has asked a very un-contentious question.
Tbh Keystone and others, who are you lot to tell someone their question isn't a valid one? It looks to me like a reasonable problem to want to fix (I will get to that in a minute) but i actually don't think it makes a difference whether the problem is down to poor design or the OP's inability to wash up, the point is they asked for advice on a specific fix they had in mind which isn't really all that odd. If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all, as my mother used to remind us.
FTBTFW> I agree a window underneath a sink is unusual and can see how this could be a problem. Assuming there is no option of re-positioning, I would think about an extra layer to go over the window itself, perhaps perspex or similar. Otherwise a carpenter or handy man should be able to make you a suitable screen to attach to the sink unit without too much trouble. Good luck!0 -
Actually you didn't make that clear at all (mainly because you didn't modify the post to include it until more than a couple of hours after the exchange of posts which offended you. If you had said that was the problem then my reply and subsequent posts would have been quite different. Very sorry but I'm not a mind reader and someone has stolen my xtal ball. As I now understand what youu are complaining of I would suggest that the perspex solution edge sealed to the work top is the low cost approach and yes I would agree that when the place was "done up for sale" this should have been done. I still don't see it as an Ikea fault though.Perspex, thank you, now I know what type of material I'll need to have cut for this. Tiles would not be any use here though because the sink backs directly on to the window pane - I'm not sure I made that clear in my original post.

Nobody is or was ganging up. That implies collsuion and there was none. OP got three similar responses to the way they expressed their problem. That kinda suggests that perhaps it was the way they expressed it that was at fault. Particularly as Post 1 was modified well after the posts of which you complain (just check the times) and your complaint would have considerable merit if the OP had given a full explanation in the first instance. Can't quite believe what I'm reading here. Its totally unusual so it would have helped if they'd said so in the first place and as I have stated in my post just before this would have ellucidated a far different response.I agree a window underneath a sink is unusual and can see how this could be a problem.
