Setting Heating Correctly?
Morning All,
I have a reasonably new heating system I don't know how to correctly get the best from the system!
I obviously have a thermostat, half way down the stairs as you would expect. I also have radiator thermostats in each room. On the boiler there is also an option to change the temperature of the water in the heating system.
So, lets assume it was cold and I was putting the heating on. Would I have the water on as hot as possible and the radiator thermostat in each room on full and the main thermostat set are the desired temperature?
I'm not too sure what settings each one should be on? Whether you leave room doors open to let the air circulate or not?
ARGH! Massively annoying!

You set the tempurature on the boiler high enough to allow the house to be as warm as you want, this will involve some trial and error but I would start at half setting unless you have details of what each setting means in terms of tempurature.
Use the controls on the rads to set the temp for each room remembering that bedrooms dont need to be a warm as the lounge.
Thermostat should be set to the temp you want in that part of the house because it controls the boiler turning on and off. Again this may involve some trial and error because it may cut off before one of the rooms reaches the temp you want or all the rooms reach the desire temp but boiler is still on.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
