Hi everyone. Still amazed at how well meal planning is working for us and feel a bit ashamed it has taken me so long to get around to doing it:o This week is going to be bit of a muddle due to school holidays but I am going to try my best to stick to it.

    Hi Everyone

Not sure whether this is the right place to ask but here goes - I'm trying to vary the pack ups and wraps would be a nice change for the menfolk of the family, but I want to make a flavoured chicken wrap - but am not sure what marinade/spices would be good, it doesn't have to be really spicy just enough to flavour the chicken, anyone got any ideas please? Also are wraps difficult to make yourself, again any ideas would be gratefully received.

    Keep safe and well,

  • I quite often call by here to look for meal ideas, but never post my own :o. Seeing as I do actually have a 7-day plan, I thought I would chip in for once:

    TUE: fish pie, wedges, peas
    WED: pizza
THU: salmon, couscous, roasted courgettes, peppers & sweet potato, rosemary
    FRI: takeaway
SAT: cornish pasties, gravy, veg / baked bean & bacon pasties for children
SUN: fish, chips, peas, tartare sauce

    Mon: Veggie chilli & rice
Tues: Jacket potatoes and beans & cheese
Weds: Venison steaks and chips (Mum gave me these but they are from Aldi and she said they were very nice. This is our midweek treat :) )
Thurs: Spaghetti bolosagna. Leftover bolognese baked with spaghetti and topped with a bechemel sauce. Delicious!
    Friday - Squash risotto

Weekends we never usually plan for, sometimes we eat out or go to visit family so I like to keep them free from the plan.

A bit late but this week (we start our plan on a Sunday) :

Sun - Invited to friend's for dinner
Mon - Pork Stroganoff with chips
    Tue - Chicken Chasseur
Wed - Roast Beef with roast potatoes, veg and gravy
Thu - Steak with onions and pepper sauce, chips
    Fri - Sausage Casserole
Sat - Leg of Lamb with mint sauce and gravy, dauphinoise potatoes and veg

Managed to get the weekly shop down to under £90 this week and this included getting 2 weeks worth of meat at the Farmer's Market :) :j We are finally starting to see some benefit from mealplanning.
It's been over 3 weeks without a takeaway or a meal out now - a great improvement!

  • Slight change of plan to this weeks plan- I was off work sick Monday and Tues so stew and soup have been bumped upto tues and weds and there doesnt appear to be a HM sheperds pie in the freezer for friday so chicken kievs will be used (YS) to make room in there.
