Dropped Kerb

Dear All,
My front garden is gravelled and is about 7m wide and 2.5 to 3m deep from the pavement of the road.
I want to drop the kerb to facilitate the parking of a motor bike and quadricycle (electric) so that it can be charged. But it looks like you need a 2.5m wide by 4.5m deep frontage for a dropped kerb.
Has anyone tackled this before and if so can I get permission to legally get these vehicles onto my own land
Thank you All,
Alan

call your local council as you will have to get permission to do it anyway0

Just to put an idea there for you. Maybe not so applicable for the quad, but remember if you're pushing your bike on the pavement, you're a pedestrian pushing a lump of metal. When I bring my scooter in the hand gate, I stop at the next drop kerb, hop off and roll it in. Cheaper than paying to drop a kerb.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?0 -
If you do go for the dropped kerb there will be authorised companies in your area that are council approved and will handle the whole thing including approval for you.;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Although, if there is also a quad firing up at weekends, or the rider has an unfortunate habit of working shifts or blipping the throttle before riding off on his bike, they really need to be best buddies in the world with all the neighbours to avoid complaints to the council that they are riding on the pavement.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Thankfully this won't be an issue as in my post the Quadricycle is electric, and it is silent :j I am planning on getting an electric bike if it works out better. :A0 -
