These will cost you about two quid...
You need a tin of hot dogs & a pack of Jus Roll pastry sheets.
Decant the hotdogs & cook, then leave to cool.Cut into 2in chunks & devide the pastry sheets into 2.5in squares.Brush the inside with mustard or onion relish, place a hot dog lump into each square & roll to make a sausage roll shape.Bake in the oven till done.Sooo much nicer than the shop bought stuff.

Buy a bero book and have a good look, lots of cheap nibbles to make. You need to have nibbles that people can pop in and out whilst watching the fireworks and kid friendly nibbles as well.
You don't need to buy a Be-Ro book - their recipes are online at the Recipe Inspiration section of their website. :money:

Popcorn? The microwave stuff is pretty cheap for the amount you get but it's even cheaper if you pop plain kernals in oil in a thick based pan.Val.0

mini chicken and mushroom pies went down well at last years bonfire party!
enough pastry to do 24 bun tins and a can of condensed mushroom soup plus the chicken breast (and bits scavenged from the carcasse) cut up small- they were wolfed down!0 -
What I do at this time of year is get the (free) booklet of things they can make you (at VAST expense) from the up-market supermarket which begins with a W, and have a look in there for ideas. They have wonderful stuff - just very expensive to buy, but full of inspiration to help you make your own.0

Thank you all for your ideas. I haven't been able to get online before now to check them out - beeping Internet!
Off to the shops today :-)0
