Hi, for some personal reasons I had to take 2000 of planned overdraft and since I pay really small money for using it, I'm on it since couple of months. Thing is me and my boyfriend found this amazing flat and i'm just worried if the credit check will come out ok... I get paid weekly so I never covered the overdraft since i have it, but money come to my account every week. I never passed the limit either and al the charges that apply are paid on time. So will that affect my credit check? And what should I do with my bank statement? It obviously shows that I'm on minus... Please somebody give me an answer asap as I reaaaally want this flat juz dont want to pay the agency 100 pound for credit check which I'm not gonna pass...

I wouldn't worry too much about the credit check.0

as none of us know the criteria the 'agency ' use to evaluate potential renters, none of us can possibly know the answer.0

I would not think that an agreed overdraft would go against you. If you are concerned, then take one of the credit checks Experian is one that comes to mind, but don't take more than one, as too many checks can affect your credit score. Im sure you'll be ok - good luck and let us know if you get the flat.
p.s. remember they can ask for the overdraft to be paid back when they want, so dont get caught, like i did, and ended up paying loads in overdraft fees.0 -
I wanted to do credit check on myself but it takes 5 days to recieve a PIN... its too long to wait cause the price is really amazing... About paying it back, well i pay the charges this is how they make money isnt it? And anyway I think they give you couple of months to do it, at least hat what they told me when i got it so im not to woried about it
but thanks for your answer anyway and i will keep u posted

Are you renting from Experian or from a letting agent?
If from experian then their credit rating will be very relevant; however if you are renting from a letting agent then it will be the letting agent view of what the credit check shows.0 -
from letting agent, well it doesnt really matter does it? just need to know if my credit check will come out ok and if it does shall i shaw them my payslip or pretend that for some reasons i cant? :P0

Yeah pretend you cannot show them a payslip and they offer the flat to the next person on the list that will show them.
If you dont give them what they ask they wont know if your lying.
They may think no payslip are you really working. And can you afford the rent?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Sorry! I ment my bank statement not payslip...0

Unless you have CCJs I wouldn't worry about it. If everyone with an overdraft wasn't allowed to rent there would be few renters.Sorted out my finances...

They do give you a while. With me, i had £1,000, then quite a few months down the line, when i was used to dipping into it, i was asked to pay it back by the end of the month, which was impossible, so i then incurred extortionate charges, as it was then not an agreed overdraft - my own fault really.0
