In a panic - flat about to be reposessed

Thank you all again.
I'm 39 with around 20 years work experience. So would not be considered for work experience placements.
I've lived abroad and travelled worldwide so I know that I could still have a good life somewhere cheaply. But I have my cat. It's much harder to run off to Goa or somewhere and live like a bum.
And bankruptcy must be horrid too. But at least the debt is all written off so you can start afresh quicker. After all the repossession fees, I may still owe the bank. And where will I live? No family or friends to crash with. Not eligible for Housing Benefit if you lose your home.
I just don't see how I can rebuild my life after repossession.0 -
And what gets me is that the only thing I have ever bought on credit has been my flat. Any designer items, holidays, cars, etc. have all been bought in cash after I have saved hard for them.
Then you hear stories of young wags with huge credit cards debts that go bankrupt and get it all written off!
Life just isn't fair.0 -
People do rebuild their lives after all sorts of horrific events. You can do it. Start by getting in touch with some estate agents and see what they have to say. Post back on here and you'll get some more help.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0

Thank you, Whitewing. I will speak to them. I know I have to, I just keep making excuses. House not clean enough, wrong time of year to sell, etc.
I just wish I had someone knowedgable to talk to in person. You have all helped.

Be sure to write down the list of EA that you will contact on Monday, making it a clear and simple goal. And focus on that daily achievement. It will be all too easy to put it off til Tuesday, Wednesday etc.
Once done tick it off and set yourself the next goal.
Sorry if it sounds condescending but its going to take will power to drive this forwards and lists can be a powerful tool to support and most importantly acknowledge past achievements. Lists have a habit of snowballing with each minor success.“Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.”

Thank you QBSBuck. I need someone to kick my butt! I'm broken and I've lost the will to fight so I really do need someone to tell me what to do and to force me to do it. I just can't think logically anymore. But I will make a list.
I've been crying all day and I can just imagine NRAM knocking on my door with repossession papers on Xmas Eve.

Good. A deep breath, sod them all, then bottoms up. Be sensible.“Nobody ever defended anything successfully, there is only attack and attack and attack some more.”

Have you been on the Bankruptcy or Debt Free Wannabee forums on here? There are a lot of very helpful people over there, many of whom will know the emotions you are going through, and are likely to be able to offer you their opinions going forward.0

Hi JimKerr,
Valid question, and I'm glad you love pets as much as I do.
I absolutely adore my baby. I also love all cats anyway, but I got him 2 years ago after my Mother passed away. He is all I have and he's very special to me.
And the fact is, shelters are overrun with cats. If I dumped him there, he would be there for a very long time, if not euthanised. He is a black cat, which is the one colour which no-one wants. And he's no longer a cute kitten, but a spoiled boy who bites strangers. He has hardly left my large flat, and he is only comfortable with me.
So do I abandon him or keep him with me? Things would be much easier for me if I could just dump him. But I love him too much.
I'll look at the other forums.
Thank you.0 -
