I'm looking for a scanner (a standalone, not all in one) as my current one didn't work with Vista.
So crucially, it needs to be compatible with Vista Home Premium. I'll be using it primarily to scan in documents for electronic storage, scanning in photos and magazine articles etc.
I've already got a good Epson printer which takes the nice cheap cartridges so unless it's actually cheaper to get an all-in-one, I'd rather a standalone.
Open to all suggestions - I'm happy to buy online if you recommend it
Thanks again!

Blackadder: Baldrick, I have a very, very, very cunning plan.

Blackadder: Yes it is.
Baldrick: Hmm... that's cunning.

Hi
I have a Canon Lide 25, excellent scanner works in Vista (all versions). £33 from Ebuyer...have a look at the reviews:

I have an Epson 2400, would recommend this, or its replacement. It has a flatbed and also does negs and transparencies. Does fully auto scan or fully manual, which does take a while to get the hang of !0

What do you think of this one - it's almost identical to the canon one suggested above but seems to have extra features??
Otherwise I'll order the one suggested above, but this one has some apparently handy features like being able to scan multiple photos at the same time - big timesaverBlackadder: Baldrick, I have a very, very, very cunning plan.

I'm ordering but notice it's £49.99 for free delivery - I also need a new keyboard as dell gave me a rubbish one  But that leaves me about £7 from the total... anyone know of an item/items for £5-7 ish to bump up the price? May as well as I'll be paying £5 delivery otherwise

Not cheap but the Logitech S510 keyboard and mouse are excellent:

I've got an older Canon scanner and have been very happy with it.
If you need to spend a fiver how about some blank media? Or maybe a USB memory stick? It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
