I've ignored that particular warning (non-certified driver) many times in the past. Sometimes you can get a bite on the backside from it and have to go to system restore or rarely if it really screws up to my last system backup.

What it comes down to is...

    Do you feel lucky punk?

It also comes down to whether something worth ~ £1 is worth all this angst.

Angst, angst, what is all this angst?

Don't know where you get the £1. from, the mag and stick cost zero, but this is a money saving site and at the least the product should work, and maybe will if I allow the software to be installed against the Windows warning, but at this moment in time I don't want the risk, just thought for nothing it would be extra storage.

Perhaps you don't worry about it but you seem to have made a lot of posts on the topic rather than just take the chance.

IMO it probably will work just fine but if it doesn't it could mess up your PC and possibly beyond your ability to easily sort out. I'm guessing you value the PC at over £1 which is the approximate commercial value of 1GB of USB storage based on current prices for small USB sticks.

This is the techie board, hence why I posted with the query, maybe someone else had the same problem and sorted it, hence the post, it appears there is no positive advice to ignore the Windows warning without the possibility of computer problems, so I will not install the software and will bin the stick.
