£1000 for a renault laguna 1.8 16v RXE, yr2000 regW I haven't seen it yet been told it has 77thousand miles, he did say there's something wrong with the lights(I think) but that it wouldn't affect the driving or mot will hear more about it when o.h gets home later but would just like some opinions on the car as I know nothing!!
I think its in insurance group 13 - this is high isn't it??
We currently have an old vauxhall vectra would insurance go up much from that to a Laguna??
And especially opinions on the price please????

Really appreciate any replies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Errr dont buy it. Renaults are not the most reliable, and if it has something wrong with the lights then a) it will be ilegal to drive and b) it WILL fail an MOT.

If theres somethign wrong with lights (whetever it is), you have to be concerned that something could go wrong when driving at night.

Personally, I'd give it a miss. Though they are nice cars to drive, they can be unreliable and expensive to fix. the Vectra is a much more sensible choice ... more reliable, looks nicer, cheaper to run and maintain too. There are plenty of cheap Vectras out there so I would try and find a Vectra instead.

Bit more info now - its just the "spotlights" not the main lights and they work it's just that they have a few chips from stones throwing up in the road apparently. Will see it tomorrow so find out then....

My problem is that I have to get a car asap as my vectra is a write-off (third-party fault) and am waiting for insurance comp to get it taken away as salvage and can't afford to be without car as I have 2 jobs opposite sides of town and kids school an hours walk away:eek:

Full beams? If so it still needs repairing for MOT.

By spotlights, I think he means the front fogs!
