Energy Switching prices are misleading

So like the rest of you I am hunting for better prices on my gas and electricity. Shame I didn't get an edf fixed, note to self take note of what you read on Moneysaving expert.
Right this is the problem. I got quotes for gas and Npower comes out best with big saving. Go direct to their site do the numbers to confirm. Then I notice that the prices say they are correct for 12 September! No indication that they will be increasing on the 26th November. This is a variable tariff, something about January 2014. Based on the fact that it takes at least 4 weeks for the change to go through are they not guilty of misrepresentation. The price and the indicated saving is an "invitation to treat" and would form terms of my contract. No doubt if I take it out they will wait till after the 14 day cooling off period to tell me and if I refuse to go ahead they will charge me the £30 cancellation charge?
