i have a very old bush tv - old style one - and i think it's on it's last legs. So i have been looking at flat screen tvs and i'm not sure what sort i need to get.
i want to be able to hook up my freeview recording box and my dvd player so do i need a tv with 2 scarts? do i link the dvd to the freeview, then the freeview to the tv?
also do i get qa led or a lcd? should i get a tv with freeview ?
arrgh!!!

An LCD TV is an LED TV, the LED bit concerns the backlight. LCD TVs with LED backlights are more energy efficient and slimmer.
All TVs have a digital terrestrial(freeview) tuner, some also have a Freesat tuner. I guess the first thing to decide is screen size. Choose one then buy the next size up as they tend to shrink with use.
I'd suggest you get a set with a Freeview HD tuner.
Getting a TV with multiple scarts may become problematic as most now use HDMI connectors which is needed for HD.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Well done for thinking about the connections BEFORE buying the TV! Yes, 2 SCARTS can be hard to find these days, maybe your DVD has HDMI out or Component out (red, green, blue phono for picture) which will/can get better quality than SCART. No need to plug DVD and Freeview box together, plug them both straight into TV.
As penrhyn says, look for a TV with FreeviewHD (not just Freeview) if you can, so you'll be able to watch the HD channels built into the TV. LED backlight is pointless if you just buy a cheapo TV, you'd be better buying a 'normal' LCD screen from a brand. Think about budget and how big a TV you want, and it might be a good time to upgrade to a Blu Ray player....0 -
I don't know how much your budget is but I've been looking at full hd smart tv's this weekend and there are some good cheap deals on the market.Be Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0

Just a quick note...any "tv" that doesn't have a freeview tuner at all will just be a computer monitor at this stage.0
