Is it time to change my Vectra - 99,000?

Yeah but the car wont break down! I have had Honda all my life any never had a breakdown or part go! The parts are more expensive but only because they never need replacing! and most Honda are chain driven so will last longer!! Any Jap car would do !
But for the OP to buy an Accord with similar mileage and age would cost him money, he will sell his Vectra for £x then have to pay £x+ premium for buying a new car, and Honda's sell for a little more than other brands (but obv not as much as BMW, Mercedes etc).
Then what if something goes wrong on a Honda, it will cost a lot more than on a Vauxhall most likely, whereas the OP has had his Vectra from new so will know it inside and out... As much as I love Honda, i think in this case the OP just needs to stick with what he has...0 -
Engine should be fine, what about the rest of it.
I scrapped a Veccy at 137k totally worn out.0 -
I had an N-reg 1.6 petrol with 180k on about 4 years ago.
Engine was fine, it was just the rest ot the car that was falling to bits!
Didn't particularly set out to buy a Vectra, but I paid £500 for it, sold the private plate of it for £500, drove the car about a bit and sold it for £450.Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?

100,000 motorway miles are nothing to a car of this size.
The gearboxes (not just clutch) are a bit weak on this model of diesel Vectra but that won't be a concern as it'll have been sat in 6th for the majority of its life
Years kill cars, rather than miles. It's a four year old car, it's a long way from scrap!0 -
I got over 140,000 on Mondeo and it drove like new. The only work I had done on it was a clutch. Keep it.0
