Change of Marital Name?

Hi all

I am currently trying to start some claims for possible PPI mis-sales. I had 6 credit cards / store cards / a loan in the past (all now paid and closed) and have the T&C for only one (these were over 5 years ago and I was young and stupid)! This may seem like a silly question but I just need to be sure - I have since married and changed my name so should I use both names on the correspondence letters or just my maiden name?

Also, I was tempted to use a claims company purely because I've just had a baby and the lack of information I have on closed accounts - I'm not even sure I had PPI on 4 of 6 (but I'm sure I had no idea what this was at the time if I had PPI)! I've decided to have a go at this my self after reading up on it but any advise that anyone can give me to make it a little easier would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you all in advance! :o

    Yes, the normal procedure would be to put your name as "CrashTestMoney nee BumpExamPenny";)
    Just make sure the Bank know who you were at the time of your loan and credit cards and who you are now. If you are no longer a customer with the relevant banks you may need to enclose a copy of your marriage certificate.

    The procedure for complaining is put very succinctly here;

    Don't make the mistake of applying for the Terms and Conditions if your accounts are now closed. If you have no documentation or account numbers, you'll need to send a full SAR letter costing £10.
    Good luck.
  • :D Thank you Moneyineptitude!

    I have the account reference for the loan and just the card numbers for 1 credit card and 2 store cards - will these be an acceptable reference for the companies to use?
