Ive been taking my daughter (6) to the cinema since before she was 3, she's always behaved perfectly - although it's always movies aimed at her - alvin & the chipmunks, diary of a wimpy kid, street dance (omg), disney films, paranorman (which i fell asleep in lol, then woke up having a heart attack as a witch was screaming) she wanted to see men in black III, so did her friends too so I took them all :rotfl:

They have booster seats in the cinema for kids to sit on my but one hates them as they make her bum sore but she can see fine. Depends on if the child is wanting to see whats on - IE chose it. If I dragged her along to see Harry Potter she'd sit whispering to me the likes of this is boring.

I never go to cineworld as its so incredibily expensive in Aberdeen, circa £9 for me  Vue has £3.55 ticket for me (student) and its about £4 for her, but we usually go on orange wednesdays so very cheap!!

How were such young children allowed into a 12A film?! I mean I know an adult can accompany then, but a 2 year old?!?!
Because a 12A means exactly that. An under 12 is allowed in with an adult. There is no age restriction on how old the under 12 has to be.

They kept that quiet though through all the promotions for the film didn't they? I did NOT see that one coming.

Up until an Odeon opened two weeks ago very close to home, Vue has been my cinema of choice, however, what really really makes me cross is that Vue put their prices up on a Wednesday (presumably in a cynical move to make more money out of Orange Wednesdays). I don't know of any other cinema chain that does this (but there may be some that do). Having checked the tariff for our new Odeon they certainly don't put prices up on a Wednesday.

And it looks like we made it once again

I have taken my oldest since she was a bit younger than 3, however with my youngest I cant imagine taking her for a while, they are totally different children.

Totally depends on the child, we also used 2 for 1 and go really early, its nice when theres load of other little kids too, usually another child crying would quieten my child
  • Excellent question OP.

I've been wanting to take DD (3) for a while but not had the bottle.

My birthday treat this year was the outdoor theatre and was a surprise, even more surprising when DH informed me we were taking DD.

I was very nervous, but she loved it and sat as good as gold most of the way through. Got a bit fidgety at the end so DH took her out for a bit. Obviously a bit worse if they're noisy in the theatre as it puts off the actors. But it was a great experience and she still talks about it.

My only advice would be to get an aisle seat if you're not sure they'll sit still. I'm going to give the cinema ago and I'll check to see if our local does children's prices and timings. Thanks again for asking the question.

Took me about 30 seconds to guess who you were talking about. Googled it to check and I was right. So yes, it was a spoiler.
