Morning everyone,
Miffy....you lucky thing. That's supposed to be a wonderful show. I've only ever been to the one at the NEC or Alexandra Palace (which is all textile art not just quilts). Have a wonderful time.
Weather is cold, bright and windy. Loving the sunshine, but it's SO COLD!!!
Swimming with my son today. Looking forward to it as it's a session just for disabled people and their families/carers, so it's relaxed, fairly quiet and very sociable. My son loves showing off to the company there and they are really kind to him, so it should be good.
Feeling very unsettled, angry and upset by the Winterbourne View sentencing, but this is not the board for that, so won't vent here.
Except to say that the effect of what the 'carers' did could damage victims for the rest of their lives and the longest sentence was 2 years!
Right I need a cup of tea.
Partner just come down and I seem to have lost my voice!!!! Oh dear.
Hugs to you all.'Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.' T S Eliot0 -
Good morning chums brrr... its a bit chilly this morning, winter is definitely on its way
hilstep2000 Batemans sounds like a nice place to go I have a NT card so may suggest it to my DD for a day out next week with the boys I know we are going to the V & A on Tuesday as there is a film costumes exhibition that we want to see on there. Also we may spend a day at Greenwich if the weather is dry, such a lot to see there and if its wet we can go into the Maritime Museum. We get my moneysworth from the NT card as all four boys are on my card and I have a seperate card for my DD as my 'carer' as I am registered disabled so we just take a picnic with us and never spend a great deal, apart sometimes for a small gift from the shop for each of the boys.We know how to enjoy ourselves without spending a fortune:)
My eldest DD texted me from NY last night to say they had arrived safely and were esconced in their hotel.Today they will hit the shops as she likes to get her Christmas shopping whilst there.
DGS Danny has gone off with his pal for the weekend to some pop concert and DGD Holly said she will appear for lunch later today so I've texted DD to say not to fret about her two kids, as I'm here if they need anything
DGS Ben started at his job late afternoon yesterday and came home beaming and said he really enjoyed himself and the folk he was with were really nice to him showing him what he had to do.
Today I shall just be pottering around a bit as I have got all of my shopping and don't need to go out for anything I make make some small cakes for the boys later as they will always 'help me out':) with cakes
Well the sun is shining but it looks rather nippy out so I shall stay indoors in the warm I think.
Don't forget the clocks change tonight so we all get an extra hour in bed tomorrow and if its chilly I shall make the most of it
I am really pleased with my budget this month as I have spent a lot less than I expected as I have been shopping from my freezer and storecupboards so I can put the surplus towards some birthday presents that I have to buy between now and Christmas
have a good weekend everyone what ever you are doing
take care and stay warm

Hello
I've been meaning to post on here for a long time!!
I'm celesmai, mum to 2 little girls- 4 and 5 months. I'm a bit of an eternal student, finishing last degree the day before I had a baby and back doing a masters already. I'm back to work, from home online next week sadly.
I try to be OS - I'm very good at organising and planning ahead. In love to meal plan, buy on offer etc. would hve more things frozen but baby milk is taking up most of freezer presently.
I guess I want to post to keep motivated and do all the things I need to do. I'm trying to declutter the house, pay off a little debt with the money and fund a summer holiday. Manage work, develop my own buisness and charity. Do my consultancy work and keep on top of the house OS! Hmmm quite a big ask!
So today I have 2 girls dossed with the cold so getting WM DW on, tidy and clean and maybe go out for a coffee or for a walk!0 -

Morning all,
Welcome celesmai,
Of all the days to pick,DH is currently cutting 2 holes out of the end wall to put 2 long narrow windows in the living room, brrr. We're doing it to make it lighter in there, its quite a dark room, and to make a bit of a feature. The tv will go on the wall in between.Might make it more saleable when we try again
Was woken at 5 this morning when DS2 arrived home after the Sportsmans dinner. Then he managed to pull the toilet roll holder off in the bathroom and clattered on the floor:mad: Now I remember why I like it when he has a gf:rotfl:its much quieter.
I don't think I'm cooking tonight but not sure what we're doing yet as our friends haven't rung back.DGD isn't staying over tonight as she is going to a Halloween do but will come tomorrow. When I minded her yesterday she was very grizzly and snotty poor little thing.I've altered a skeleton outfit for DGN for him to wear next week,it had feet in-like a babygro, but his feet are too big,so I cut the bottom off and just hemmed it on the machine.DN also brought a dress for me to take in but I'm working up to that, its so nice & I don't want to spoil it:rotfl:
I might take a gammon joint out of the freezer for tomorrow, need to make some space for c'massy things.Anyway hope you all have a good weekend.xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -

Morning All
Welcome :wave:celesmai
I must own up to putting the heating on for a couple of hours last night, it warmed the house enough for the rest of the evening so it was fleeces on top of quilts and hot water bottles at bedtime.
It is actually dry here today with a breeze :jfirst time in days so I have put some washing on the line.
Back later DH has just got back from work so BFN xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Afternoon all,
I know, i know its a bit late in the day but ive got a confession to make. I only got up an hour ago.
By now i should have gone to the bank (its closed now) and i should be food shopping. Thats what happens when i stay in bed listening to my hubby telling me about his week at work. In all fairness i think its good to take an interest in my mans' work (but i did lose interest when the photos came out). Then he went on to look at Sat Navs on his phone and i started looking at stuff on Debenhams on mine. No excuse, i should have taken my medication hours ago.:(
Well ive had my shower, got dressed, makeup on. Fed the men and I'll play the rest by ear.

Judi hang your head in shame!!:D
Celesmai welcome.
I have some good news - I had an email yesterday, and I've got a late booking for a canine guest; a little JR Cross, elderly, deaf, loves company, named Mary, arriving tomorrow and staying til Dylan the Lurcher comes to stay next Saturday. So we'll have canine company for our Samhain celebrations.:T:T:T:T
This has focused my mind somewhat on the fact that I resemble a red-and-silver badger once again, so we need to set to and get my hair coloured this afternoon; I don't like to do it with a doggy guest here, because it stinks the bungalow out, and it wouldn't be fair on a dog to have to put up with that.;)
If I can just pry Mr LW away from the Telegraph crossword, we'll get started on it.....:cool:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
