I have just seen that HSBC is to open a bank, in an area of Dorset where houses sell for £8m+, and face-to-face banking will ONLY be given to the wealthiest of their clients.

  • It seems to me this country is sliding back to the "them" and "us" days of upstairs, downstairs, two tier education system, two tier healthcare, private landlord and tennant, two tier banking what next a workhouse. I'm all for the "freedom to chose" as is our right but as the poor get poorer their ability to "chose" becomes more and more limited. But that is only my humble, working class opinion - so really what do I know!

I started a thread on this in DT, Moneysavers Arms. There are some quite 'interesting' comments.
