I have just seen that HSBC is to open a bank, in an area of Dorset where houses sell for £8m+, and face-to-face banking will ONLY be given to the wealthiest of their clients.

The way to stop HSBC from doing this is simple.
Anybody whgo does not meet the criteria - and lets be honest that is most - should take there business elsewhere. This applies not ot the people of this town and area but over the country! What will HSBC have to do then. Instead most people will do BU**ER ALL and HSBC will beat their £9,10,11 Bn (Whos Counting) Profit nexy year!Credit Card Debt

But banks have *always* catered for the wealthy. It's referred to as "private banking" - I guess we are "public banking"...
For example - go to Lloydstsb website, click on "Private Banking" at the top, then click on "Discover more about how we can help you today". It even tells you how much you have to earn...

True. Most accounts today require a certain monthly salary or balance at a certain level each month, or they charge you for the 'privilege' of banking with them.
The world's local bank indeed....:mad:People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use

They are ethical in everyway
I have both my accounts with them.
I have never been a big fan of financial institutions, but smile get my vote everytime. And they are based in my home town so Im a bit biased.
( anyone whos interested lemme refer you so we both get a case of wine!)
HSBC have always bankrolled the wealthy and stuffed the little guy. they were behind the privatisation of the water supply in Bolivia, ( bankrolled our freinds at EDF leaving hundreds of isolated people to die. Nice. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

That's disgusting - makes even more of a mockery of their advertising (being concerned about other countries and their way of life)I'm moving on up now,

My wife used to bank with HSBC, I say used to because she closed her account this pm on hearing of this, I hope more follow suit, if HSBC are so dedicated to "premier" accounts I say let's help them concentrate on them more by closing our "paupers" accounts.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0

I must admit - I didn't do that. I kept my account open for the past 12 years with a few quid in it. Every month they send me a statement - costing them money.
