PPI reassessment

Hi any help would be much appreciated with my query.

About February 2011 I put in a claim for miss-sold ppi with a claims firm (I know, i know, hindsight n all that!), anyway that claim was settled in May 2011, the claim firm got their pound of flesh and I had no more correspondence from them.

Today I recieved a letter from my bank advising me that they have re-assessed my claim and have offered me a further payment (yay!).

So my question is will the claims firm come knocking for another cut? And are they within their rights to do so?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help

You've signed a legally binding contract for the CMC to represent you in ALL PPI complaints.
You can therefore expect the Claim Firm to present you with another bill shortly...

    Hi

I take it, this is in regards of one loan account?
You did not have other loans with the same business by any chance that they may have automatically looked into?

    Just a thought.

Most claims company contracts say all PPI cases with a provider. Check your contract.

  • Thanks for the help, i'll dig out the contract and have a good look.
  • If the ambulance chaser promised to check the calculations you MAY have a case (some did) because they should have spotted the error.

It is also possible that they may have surrendered their authorisation to the MOJ - in which case they will no longer be entitled to payment.

Many ambulance chasers are now throwing in the towel as they will fall under the jurisdiction of the legal ombudsman next year.
