Somehow I've saved a document as my blank template.
Every time I open word, instead of getting a blank document opened, I get this bl**d* savd document.
How do I revert or re-establish a blank template?

Just highlight and delete the text, assuming you dont want to save it.
click close, it will ask do you want to save the changes, click yes,
Thats it.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
if is is still not working, search in explorer for normal.dot and rename them to normalG_M.dot
then open a new document again0 -

you have 2007 or 2010 version? search for normal.dotm instead0
-
start>run
In the run window, type %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates and hit return.
Open the normal.dotm file, edit as you wish, then resave.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
(Actually, you can just stick %appdata%\Microsoft\Templates into the search box in the start menu and skip the run window)I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.

Not easy, as when you go to 'save' it defaults to saving it as a new document in the documents folder.
Nightmare trying to find its original folder name/location (App Data folder not visible!) but.....

If all else fails, is it worth trying 'restore' to before problem occurred?
Good luck0 -
one more go
thinking that you only have one drive. go to the dos command prompt, in the black box and past in the lines below with quotes then press return. post back the results, or find a file called normal.????
cd\
attrib *.* /s |find /i "normal"
if you get too many results put this in instead
cd\
attrib *.* /s |find /i "normal" >> c:\temp\hunter.txt
then with notepad open c:\temp\hunter.txt and paste the contents into the page0
