I have an HD ready TV and am thinking about getting either a Tivo box or Freeview + HD.
I'm slightly confused about the whole HD Ready/Full HD thing!
If i connect either of the above boxes to my HD ready TV, does that mean I'll be able to view BBC 1 HD, ITV 1 HD etc in full 1080p High Def?

With Freeview + HD you can only get 4 Hd channels with Tivo 6 - 24 HD channels depending on package0

Broadcasters don't transmit HD in 1080p. They use 1080i.
Your HD ready TV may or may not have a 1080x1980 screen, to be HD ready it need only be 720 x 1280.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I bought an HD ready TV with Freeview 6 years ago. The digital picture quality was so good that I wondered whether I would see any difference if I got an HD box. I eventually decided that I wanted to use the TV's HD capability, and I bought a HUMAX Fox Freeview HD box earlier this year. It was one of my best ever buys. It doesn't record, but I don't need that.
I get 4 HD channels, and the picture quality is amazing. I don't know anything about Tivo boxes.Who having known the diamond will concern himself with glass?

Actually Freeview HD is broadcast in both 1080i and 1080p depending on the programme and channel. And some satellite broadcasters also broadcast in 1080p but not Sky (at least not at the moment).
OP as you are talking about TiVo I assume you are in a VM cable area? As only the VM TiVo is HD capable the original Thomson TiVo was SD only.0
