After being with EDF for just a few months we are moving to Sainsburys as not paying EDF,s prices after them putting them up 10% but would like some advice about moving.
We have prepayment meters but sainsburys only do Direct debit so while on the phone the guy spoke so fast i found it hard to understand what he was saying.
from what i could make out they are going to send out prepayment keys then we have to ring British gas to get them to change the meters but what happens if BG wont change them?
do we then stay with sainsburys as prepayment customers?
how long does it take to move from one to another? as he said within 2 weeks it takes but im sure it was longer with EDF.
he also said about a credit check to get the meters changed but what happens if i fail credit check?

Are you aware its British Gas rebranded ?
" Sainsbury's Energy doesn't cover energy supply to homes with a prepayment meter"
"If British Gas already supplies the energy at your new property, your transfer should take no more than 28 days. If British Gas isn't the current supplier, it may take 6-8 weeks but your energy supply won't be affected in the meantime."
