    Of course it is misleading if not told of the difference when booking.

    The MSE link does not say it is for a standard eye test, although their comparison is against other standard eye tests.

    Their web page says call for a free eye test appointment

    I think one of the problems is that people keep referring to a free eye test.
    Tesco do not offer free eye tests. What they do offer are free sight tests.

    A sight test simply checks out how good or bad your vision is.
    Anything over and above this (such as carrying out an eye check to see if contact lenses are suitable or if already worn, have been damaging the eye) is not part of a sight test but is an eye examination.
