Kodak ESP C-315 wi-fi problem

Options
Hi all. I have had my Kodak ESP C-315 for some time and had very few real problems. It has always been used with wi-fi. Last week I gave AOL the sack and signed up for BT Broadband. After setting up the home hub 3 and succesfully connecting my laptop and phone I connected the Kodak printer. So far so good. Today when I switched on my laptop it advised me that new software was available for the printer so I downloaded it. On installation it tried to search for my printer and says it can't detect it. I have checked the network settings on the printer and they are all showing correctly. Th ip address is there and it lists the home hub as the connected router. I have tried temporarily turning my firewall off in case for some strange reason it's blocking the connection but to no avail. Any ideas please?

    Classic Help Desk advice -

"Have you tried turning it off and back on again?".

I had a similar problem with a Canon.

    The instructions said -
Is the printer powered on - Yes
Is the wifi indicator on - Yes

    Computer couldn't find it.

I power cycled the printer; computer found it straight away.
  • I have had exactly the same problem. I am with Plusnet and my Kodak c 315 was working perfectly until I installed updates as prompted by Kodak. My printer then disappeared and the only way I could get it back was to restore my laptop to the day before I updated - thus removing the update. I think there is a problem with the update rather than the wireless/broadband. I suggest you do as I have done and remove the update. I doubt it is very useful anyway - probably just adds some none essential gizmos!! The most annoying thing is that I can't work out how to stop the update reminders which still appear daily.

Thanks for your advice people. Turned out it was the router that needed turning off and on again. Just hope this doesn't turn into a regular thing.
