Central Locking

Hello all,

My wife is hankering after a newer small car (one that has central locking).

Rather than fork out a couple of grand for this, I was wondering if its possible to install central locking in an existing car, and if so, roughly how much this would set me back?

She doesn't know I'm thinking this, and will probably punch me when I suggest it, but you can but try!?:rotfl:

Thanks in advance!

Duncan

It depends on the car (make, model and year) - I would post this on the motoring page where others will be able to help you

......................or a friendly board guide will move it for you.;)

    Hello duncan32

I'll move your thread to the 'Motoring & Public Transport' board.

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.

    Regards

Yes you can covert most any car to central locking.
you can buy kits off Ebay for around 25 quid. I`ve converted my MX-3 to remote central locking.
Fitting the central locking can be done by yourself, but a bit of basic diy/electrical experiance is very useful.
