Hi, first time user and amazed by the amount of info on here. Hoping somebody can help me. I'm starting to look into reclaiming PPI that I'm sure I have paid over the years. I phoned my mortgage lender asking about PPI, mortgage is finished now but the lender (bank) said that no PPI was applied to the account but they can't speak for my Insurance company. I have gone through my papers and found that I had a 'Universal Protection Plan'. Is this another name/wording for taking PPI?? As I think it's Life Insurance and insurance against critical illness etc. I have all the dates and info, so should I write to them?? Sorry to be so vague, am very new at this.

What do you want to write to them about?
Did they sell it to you?
What is the date?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. When I spoke to my bank, the mortgage lender they sounded very suspicious and I thought there maybe more to my policy and hidden PPI. Thanks for your help, will continue to go through my papers.0

If the lender didnt arrange the mortgage then they wouldnt have arranged the insurances.I thought there maybe more to my policy and hidden PPI.

Claims Management Companies try to encourage people to sign up by telling them PPI may have been "hidden" in the interest etc. It wasn't hidden, on credit cards it's on every monthly statement and even on loans it will have appeared on the original agreement0
