just a thought, but could it be made more effective by contacting a local charity / charity of your choice, and seeing if there's anything in particular that they really need, and then specifically asking for that in your letters?
for more info check out www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk . You'll find me there.

yes, I realise I may appear cold and heartless a lot of the time.

Yes That's A Good Idea Too But Sometimes These Groups Tend To Have Fundraisers & Events Where They Can Raise money With Raffles ETC.

Great Idea Though, If You Try It Please Let Us Know How you Do.

    Good Luck,

    Nick.

    PPI Party Pooper
just posted this on the thread in Freebies, but moved it here too

What an excellent idea, count me in!!

My hubby works for a community group who have just found out their funding has been cut via the front page of the local newspaper! Great eh? So anything I can do to get them donations will help even more than before!

Any luck with a template letter please?
You're so very special, I wish I was special

    Hi There,

I'm Not Going To Do A Template Letter, As If One Company Receives Loads Of Letters The Same Then We May Not Be In With A Chance.

I Would Be More Than Happy To Read & Adjust Anyones Letter If They PM It To Me.

    Many Thanks,

    Nick.

FANTASTIC IDEA!!!!!! I've sent my letters asking for things that I can sell/raffle for Refuge. It's a charity really close to my heart and I'd love to be able to help them.

I actually enjoyed doing it and it really didn't take very long at all. Loads of household products like imulse and nivea have the customer service address on the back so it's dead easy. I'd really recommend doing this, you can save lives just by using a little bit of your time and having a laugh.
