Free parking near hospitals HOSPITAL PARKING

I know there are loads of threads on here bemoaning hospital parking charges, and I share the sentiment. BUT/AND I thought it might be useful to have a thread for the more able-bodied of us, including many hospital visitors, listing where to park and walk!
I'm happy to keep the first post updated in alphabetical order (may not be done very regularly). And I'll kick off.
Sorted by City
Barnet Hospital plenty of side roads nearby (bit hilly though) but obviously they get quite full quickly.
Bodelwydden, Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, - as with other hospital car parks in Wales parking is now free although finding a space can be difficult at peak times (at others there's no problem whatsoever). The hospital is out of town rather than in a built up area so if you want to avoid the hospital car park then you could easily park in Bodelwydden and walk half a mile or so to the hospital.
Bristol Royal Infirmary, Bristol Children's Hospital, Eye Hospital and Oncology - absolutely no free parking whatsoever in the immediate vicinity, closest / easiest / flattest is probably on City Road which is limited to 1 hour during the day (so you'll barely get there and back), free after 6 pm. Southmead Hospital, Bristol and Frenchay Hospital, S Gloucs: some free parking on surrounding streets but you have to look for it and check they haven't put restrictions in since the last time you were there.
Edgware Edgware General - Park free in Deansbrook Road except between 11-12. As well as Deansbrook Road, you can park on the Edgware Road (outside) after 9.30am (Harrow side) or 10am (Barnet side), till 4.30 - 4pm .... check signs carefully !
Guildford Royal Surrey County Hostpital, Guildford - conveniently right next to Tesco Extra (3 hours)
Harrow Northwick Park - Park free in Northwick Avenue (high demand as it's also near the station), walk through NP Underground and hospital grounds. (Longish walk for most departments).
Llandudno Hospital, Llandudno - Fairly small hospital with a reasonably sized free car park which is more than adequate so parking shouldn't be a problem. If for any reason the car park is full I'd advise waiting for a space rather than parking on a nearby street as the hospital is in the "rough" part of town.
Manchester Christies, Manchester - all surrounding roads.
Neath Neath & Port Talbot Hospital - Plenty of on site parking for free
Port Talbot Neath & Port Talbot Hospital - Plenty of on site parking for free
Swansea Morriston Hospital - Parking is free, but space is limited
Swansea Singleton Hospital - Parking is free, but space is limited
Watford Watford General - Whippendell Road, Watford (not match days, as it's close to football ground)

Lincoln County Hospital, Lincoln Two pay car parks with barriers, maximum charge £3 for 4 hours+. On the other hand you can park on the roads running round the site, all you will get is an unenforceable invoice from TPS for not having a staff permit, or go round near the Peter Hodgkinson unit at the back, more roads and grass verges to park on round there

Royal Surrey County Hostpital, Guildford. Conveniently right next to Tesco Extra, so 3 hours free (of stupid fake PCNs).0

Use the tickets for nappies?0

Neath & Port Talbot Hospital - Plenty of on site parking for free
Morriston Hospital - Parking is free, but space is limited with car parks all over the place. There are a few places you can park outside of the hospital, but they are often limited.
Singleton Hospital - The same as Morriston but there are more spaces, there are streets around there, but it will be a good 10-15 minute walk to get them.
Public transport, they have bendy busses from Singleton to Morriston hospitals on a regular basis, maybe an option instead of drivingExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
Watford general whipendell (not sure of spelling) road. Not match days.0

I find Parkopedia quite useful. It can be updated by anyone and I find the info is generally pretty up to date. Here's an example of a search for the QE in Birmingham:
http://en.parkopedia.co.uk/parking/hospital/queen-elizabeth-hospital-birmingham/
It provides a map of the area with a selection of parking options listed so you can compare by price and proximity.0 -

This is useful, and I didn't know about it. But it's not doing quite the same as this thread, as I don't see any (or at least, hardly any) free nearby on-street parking! If I search for the hospitals I know, the convenient parking I have mentioned is not included! :eek:Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0 -
