How much electric would a fan use?

Hello everyone,
I currently pay £49 a month gas/electric in total. It's a 2 bed house with only me here - I'm out most of the day.
I sleep at night with a stand up fan next to the bed which I have on. Its on level 1 - the lowest level.
Having this on for 8 hours - how much of a difference would this make to my bills?
I.e. £1-£2 a month or a lot more?
Thanks

Just done a quick google and a typical wattage for a large 40cm pedestal fan is about 55w, possibly less on the slow setting.
So if you have it on for say 8 hours a night that would be about 1/2 kwh or about 7p per night.0 -
Probably consumes 40 to 50 watts - eight hours at 45W = 360W, so just over a third of a kwh per night - cost 4p to 5p. So in a month, between £1 and £2 is the sort of range you'd be looking at. Less if you have a cheaper night rate.0

Oh that's good.
I used it during summer to keep cool while sleeping. Now I love the humming sound and it blocks out road noise and keeps me relaxed!

Tell us the kW rating of the fan and the price you pay per unit, and we can tell you. Otherwise it's like asking how much it costs to run a car without knowing the mpg or how much you pay per gallon. No free lunch, and no free laptop
