Applying for a Halifax Reward account with a old AP marker on credit report ?

The main problem I see with having all these current accounts is that it must surely lower ones credit score.
Why would that be? If the accounts are run ok how would having multiple bank accounts lower my score, whatever "score" actually means as Credit Reference Agency "scores" are as good as random number generators. i.e. meaningless as each lender will score differently.0 -
I recall reading here 6 months ago, another very regular poster admitted they had 13 current accounts.
Halifax Reward x 4 (£240 a year in Reward payments)
Yorkshire Bank (held 30+ years so looks good on credit applications)
Santander (stoozing a £10K O/D facility against my offset mortgage, so worth around £200 a year)
Nationwide (for free annual European travel insurance)
LTSB Vantage x 3 (£18K making 4% AER)
Probably need to think about closing...
NatWest
HSBC
Co-op
...which were opened for joining/switching incentives, although maybe I'll keep a couple for future switching incentives.0 -
NatWest have a E-Saver paying 2.85% AER which you could stooze with LTSB, are you sure you want to close it?0
