  • According to your SOA your income is over £800 more than your outgoings!!!

    Where is that money going?

If you don't know what you spend it on - keep a spending diary for a while

Other than that, use it to pay your debts and you will be debt free in no time!!!

i know, its daft. ive been keeping a spending diary for a couple of weeks and so far my money seems to be going on things like the odd pint before work, or having to buy food if im doing a double shift at the pub. (theres no fridge or anything that i can use so can't take lunch.)

of the missing £800, last month nearly £600 went on debts, and currently my OH owes me £80 and my mum owes me £30.

Paying £600/month to 3.5K debt will have it cleared pretty fast! :j

Obvisously the less you can spend then faster the day will come. From your SOA, the £100 lunch cost could be reduced by taking packed lunch (i don't mean letting BF parents pay if you dont want - just buy bread, fillings etc and make it yourself - saves a fortune). Also, you could lower your mobile phone tarif to nearer £20 by giving them a call, even if you are mid-contract.

Have a look on https://www.whatsthecost.com for a snowball caluclator to work out your debt-free date for extra motivation.

You are currently in a very privaledged situation where you have the chance to get debt-free while your living costs are so low. Take advantage that now please - or you will seriously regret it later - servicing debts when your living costs may be triple what they are now will be much much harder (trust me, i know :o )
  • by the way, have you been selling on ebay and doing pigsback clicks etc?

it all helps raise extra cash - have a look at the relevent threads on these boards if you dont know what im talking about!

Ive been doing the pigsback, but as for ebay, when i moved in with the OH's parents, i took a lot of stuff back to my parents. That is the stuff i should have sold on ebay! They live about 200 miles away, but the next time i go home, i'll be bringing it back with me to sell. I've put some books on Amazon but they're currently not selling.
