Multi car rubbish

I have just had a renewal quote from Admiral for a multi car policy. I thought I would use Confused.com to check each policy to see if I was getting a good deal. Would you believe it I saved over £120 overall by having separate car insurance policies, and you'll love this,....... the new policies are also with Admiral! In addition, I also declared my daughter's recent speeding fine!!!!:beer:
Why o' why do companies insist on sending out expensive car insurance renewal quotes and take your money to 'make it easier?'. As if we didn't know! What ever happened to loyalty?

Because about 85% of people will fall for it and it makes them money.0 -
Phone the Pirates up. Tell them the individual quotes you have (make out you are want to buy them). Confirm the prices then ask for a multicar quote.
They should offer you a cheaper price than the combined individual quotes.
If they don't do it kick up a fuss, tell them their advertising is misleading and threaten to keel haul them, report them to Trading Standards and that you want to log an official complaint that you will follow up with the FOS.
Auto-renewal might suit those that don't mind paying unfair price hikes in exchange for guaranteed continuity.
I moved away from the Pirates and use LV= (Liverpool Victoria) - better policies, cheaper and a much more pleasant experience all round.Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"0 -
They don't just do it with multi-car quotes.
I was with Admiral for my first year of driving, got to renewal time and they sent me a quote through. I did a check on a couple of comparison sites and was getting a quote over £300 cheaper from diamond/elephant/admiral (all the same company). Diamond was cheaper by about £10 so phoned up and asked why this new quote was cheaper than the renewal price offered to me and the answer was "I'm not sure"... hmmm yeah;) They are obviously hoping people will be lazy and just take what is handed to them on a plate rather than hunting for a better deal0
