The fan in my dell inspiron 1525 is grumbling away at me occasionally, so I guess it needs replaced.
I looked up a tutorial on youtube and it looks easy enough.
Looking on ebay for the fan, however, i see there are a few different part numbers for them.
Now, does anyone know, is the only way I can find the part number i need by stripping the laptop and checking on the original one?
It will need dismantled regardless, but was thinking it would be easier to disassemble then re-assemble at the same time, once I have bought the new fan.

what does grumbling away mean
if it spins, and is clean, nothing to do!!
> . !!!! ----> .0 -
em, rumbling would be a more appropriate word. It's getting quite noisy.
It still blows, and I cleaned it out with a can of air 6 months ago, but it sounds like crap now0 -
"cleaning" with aircans just forces the carp back into the fan housing - really needs to be taken apart and cleaned properly....you'll be suprised how much is in there when you take it out of the lappy......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0
