Car Insurance Premiums

Hello All,

back in March my car was hit by another driver whilst it was parked on my street. The driver took full responsibility and their insurance paid for everything.

I've come to renew and now have an incident on my insurance. This has increased my premium by £73 (if you check without the incident this is the how much the difference is).

I'm sure that this is not right, that I should have to pay more as I was 100% not at fault. It seems like the car insurance industry is printing money (it is the same for other insurers too as I have to include it).

Apparently, statistics show that I am more likely to have another incident or accident now (what they have told me), even though it was nothing to do with me (apart from parking my car there). If you go down this route then everyone's premium should increase automatically every year as statistically we are all more likely yo have an incident or accident. I have not had any claims for 12 years of insurance.

I have asked for a full written explanation as to why my premium is more expensive now.

Does anyone know if I can take any action against this?

Only thing you can do is choose another insurer.

exactly the same thing happened to me a few years ago, parked up waiting to pick a friend up and bump, other driver accepted full liability, all damages paid out no problem,
my insurance renewal came and bump again,
    they say risk factor increased?
as above, shop around, but you must declare non fault claims either way

Some companies do raise the premiums, some dont.

Coop or Aegis dont, Ive had 2 non fault incidents in the past few years and my premium didnt rise.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
